BFLG Midlands - Friday 20 January 2012 10:00am - 2:30pm Stratford Manor Hotel
Who are we?
We are a professional development group with a curiosity about the brain, people, creativity and learning. We have a fantastic range of people with different skills and interests and we are all really passionate about continuously improving our own performance so that our employers and clients get the best results from investing in learning with us.
When we first met we asked the group what their aims were – when someone said to share and spread the benefits of brain friendly learning with the whole world everyone clapped, so that’s what we do!
When and where do we meet?
We have quarterly meetings, usually Fridays from 10:00 am until 2:30pm at The Stratford Manor Hotel. When you join you will be sent details of the Brain Friendly Learning Discussion Group on Linked-in. This is a great way to keep in touch, share ideas and benefit from the combined knowledge and experiences of the group.
Other 2012 dates:
27th April
6th July
12th October
Why join?
It doesn’t matter whether you’ve never heard of brain friendly learning before or you’re already one of its seasoned advocates; we’re all here to learn! Our only request for you to join us is that you are committed to promoting enjoyable, memorable and useful learning which gets workplace results.

At the last Midland’s Brain Friendly Learning Group (BFLG) meeting, the group considered some of the models that underpin any ‘brain friendly’ learning as well as their benefit to us and the learner.
Helen Ashton, Partner and Head of Learning and Development at First Class, led the group to explore, compare and contrast the models that are the backbone of brain friendly learning.
If you missed it and would like more information on the findings, e-mail info@firstclass-training.co.uk
The next Midlands BFLG meeting is Friday 20th January 2012
A powerful way to learn is through sharing and talking about information you have gleaned. On the 20th January 2012 Clare Haynes, from Wildfire, will lead a “Book Club” style morning during which we will share our thoughts from “Drive: The Surprising Truth About What Motivates Us “ by Daniel H Pink. To order your copy please go to - www.amazon.co.uk/Drive-Surprising-Truth-About-Motivates/
Whether an old hand or new to brain friendly learning, this will be an opportunity to discover more of what underpins brain friendly learning, both in concepts and in practice. What better way to start 2012!?
The meeting will follow the usual really effective and popular structure. Starting at 10am with coffee and the opportunity to meet others, 90 minutes of new learning, lunch and then the learning clinic, finishing around 2.30pm. In the clinic is an opportunity to ask the “experts” in the room and share knowledge about real life challenges. Feel free to come armed with an idea that we can help you with.
